Official sources said two terrorists and a SF personnel were killed in Hill Tak area, Rajouri district, on January 13, in an operation launched to apprehend Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) local terrorist Tahir Billa. He had reportedly assaulted a number of female students in Darhal area and torched their uniforms and books while issuing threats to them to stop education and wear burqas (veil). SFs, on specific information that Billa and his associates had taken shelter at a residence in Hill Tak, commenced a search operation. Even as they were surrounding the house, they were fired upon by the terrorists. In the ensuing encounter, two terrorists and a SF personnel were killed. Two AK rifles with some ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the encounter-site. The operation was continuing, when reports last came in.
