On January 24, Jharkhand Police arrested a naxalite (left-wing extremist) who was carrying a consignment of arms in capital Ranchi, reports ANI. The extremist identified as Prabhu Rao, was on his way to Ratu Road in Ranchi when police arrested him. Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police, N P Singh said, "We believe these are the parts of 51 mm mortar and it was going through Naxalites. Earlier also in two trips their equipments have come in similar two, three boxes. So, their strategy is that they do not take away the complete equipments, but take them in parts to distant places or may be they will assemble it somewhere and make arms out of it." A letter, written in Telugu, was also recovered from the arrested naxalite.
