Maoists abducted Birendra Shah, the Bara correspondent of Kathmandu-based Nepal F.M in Bara district, reports Nepal News. Members of the Maoist-affiliated Tharuwan National Liberation Front abducted him from a place near Dagiya Basti on October 5. The Maoists, however, released Ram Dev Shah, the manager of a local newspaper 'Terai Khabar', who was abducted along with Birendra Shah.
