Around 3,000 Maoist insurgents attacked the Latinath police post in Darchula district on February 13 for arresting two of their cadres, Himalayan Times reports. The two were arrested for their reported involvement in the recent attack on Nepali Congress leader and former minister Dilendra Badu in Latinath. Led by the Maoist district committee members, Daman Dhami and Kamala Panta, the insurgents hurled stones at the police post. Darchula Chief District Officer Yagya Raj Bohora said that the CPN-Maoist cadres barged into the kitchen, threw away all the food and looted the utensils. They also cut off the drinking water supply line and issued a diktat to the local traders not to supply groceries or food stuff to the police until their comrades are released.
