On June 18, Abdur Rashid Malitha alias Tapan alias Dada Tapan, founder of the Janajuddha faction of the Purba Banglar Communist Party (PBCP), was killed in a ''shootout'' with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel, in the Baradi village at the outskirts of Kushtia town.
