The Kerala Police arrested a suspected militant, identified as Kabir, a resident of Rippon in the Wayanad District, who had a lookout notice issued against him by the Intelligence Bureau (IB), from Thiruvananthapuram airport on August 30, reports Times of India. Unconfirmed reports said the IB suspects him of being involved in terrorist attacks, including the Bangalore serial bomb blasts in July 25, 2008. He was also reported to be close to the absconding Indian Mujahideen (IM) ''commander'' Tadiyantavide Nasir, who is also wanted for the Bangalore serial bomb blasts case. Kabir was interrogated by officers of the IB, which had issued the lookout notice three months ago. Earlier on August 27, the IB had given an alert which said he could try to flee India any time.
