Meanwhile, a team of Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range in coordination with the Morang District Police Office arrested Ram Prasad Mainali, the chairman of the Nepal Defense Army (NDA), a religious extremist group, from Bhagidubba in the Jhapa District in the eastern Nepal in the morning of September 5, Chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range Nawaraj Silwal informed on September 6. Further, the NDA 'commander' for the Morang District, Tribhuvan Yadav alias "Police", was also arrested from Motipur in Morang. The religious extremist group owned up the explosion at Assumption Church in Jawalakhel in May, in which four people were killed and 15 injured. The Home Ministry, in its secret report, has listed the NDA as a religious-criminal group and is preparing to take stern action against it after launching the special security plan. The Police seized a pistol along with 14 bullets, a revolver along with five bullets, mobile set, SIM cards issued from Nepal and India, pamphlets and threat notes. Morang District Police Office produced the duo amidst a press conference in Morang on September 6. Although others were also arrested, their identification will be publicised only after investigation, the Police said.
