Nepal News reports that a cadre of Nepali Congress''s sister organisation Tarun Dal, Chandra Prakash Hanggam was killed in Ilaam-Godak section of the Mechi Highway in Taplejung District on October 26. A group of about half-dozen persons attacked Hanggam and his pillion rider while he was going towards Jhapa from Taplejung on a motorcycle. Pillion rider Patanwa was seriously injured. Nepali Congress alleged that cadres of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (Unified CPN-Maoist) are involved in the murder. Issuing a press release, Nepali Congress (NC) said it severely condemns such barbaric activities of the Maoists. NC Taplejung president Surya Man Gurung told Kantipuronline over the phone that he could identify the murderer if he was allowed to enter the PLA cantonments
