According to Mid Day, two people, including an Uttar Pradesh Policeman, were arrested by the Gorakhpur Police for smuggling bullets on January 26. The Police also raided the homes of two suspects, Prakash and Stephen, in the Subramanyapura area of Bangalore (Karnataka) who were arrested earlier in Uttar Pradesh smuggling 150 rounds of bullets. The smuggled bullets are used in SLR and AK-47 rifles. The bullets were said to have been bought illegally by the two from the Gorakhpur Armoury, according to the Police. The Police suspect the duo is even supplying arms and ammunition to the Maoists.
