The Hindu reports that three cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) surrendered to the Police in the presence of Superintendent of Police (Rural), Shahnawaz Qasim, in Warangal District on August 28. Two of them, identified as Pasham Parvathalu alias Ganesh alias Prasad of Gudipadu village of Mogullapalli Mandal (Administrative Unit) and his wife Pasham Swaroopa, were wanted in the assassination of former State Home Minister A. Madhava Reddy and an India Police Service (IPS) officer Umesh Chandra. They are key witnesses in the attack on the then Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Qasim said. He also added that Pasham Parvathalu was associated with the Maoists since 1990 and was introduced to Thakkallapalli Vasudeva Rao alias Ashanna, then working as District Committee Member of the Maoists. Parvathalu used to stay in rented houses at select towns in the State and provide shelter to Ashanna, who was on special missions of the Maoists. Both Parvathalu and Swaroopa were carrying a head money of INR 200, 000 each.
