Times of India reports that the cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) killed their former colleague, identified as Rakesh Chandu Veladi (25) at village Kedmara under Tadgaon sub-Police Station in Bhamragad tehsil (administrative division) of Gadchiroli District in the night of December 7. Rakesh, a former Maoist cadre had surrendered before the Government in 2008. Police sources said that Rakesh had returned to his native village in Kedmara after the surrender and had taken to farming. After learning about his presence in the village, armed Maoists came to the village and took him with them. After killing him, his body was thrown on Tadgaon-Mannerajaram road. Villagers recovered his body in the morning of December 8 and informed Tadgaon Police.
