The Hindu reports that the Police arrested a surrendered cadre of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) and four sympathisers from Nawabupeta village in Chityal mandal (administrative division) in Warangal District late in the night of December 9. According to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Shahnawaz Qasim, the Police arrested Chinna Chandramouli alias Arun, P. Rajender, E. Swami, A. Rayamallu, and G. Kumara Swamy when they were holding a meeting in a mango grove outside Nawabupeta village in the mandal. The Police recovered six coupling bombs, fuse wire and some letters written to Chandramouli by Damodar, action committee secretary in Mahadevpur area of the outfit at Eturunagaram. They were acting at the behest of Damodar and were reportedly planning to blast cell phone towers to commemorate conclusion of the anniversary celebrations of Peoples' Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA). Chandramouli was injured in an exchange of fire in 2002 at Narsingapur village in Bhupalpalli mandal. He later surrendered but continued to maintain links with Maoist leaders.
