The arrestees were identified as Mathuram Brahma alias Mudoi alleged to be the mastermind behind the October 2008 serial blasts in Assam, Lachit Boro alias Haijang a commander who masterminded the serial killing of 20 people in Assam's Sonitpur District, Nwzar Basumatary and Mukul Boro. It is learnt that the arrested militants had entered into Indian territory from Bangladesh through West Khasi Hills and were hiding in Byrnihat, waiting for an opportunity to sneak into Assam.
