Daijiworld.com reports that the second Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court, through a judgment delivered on February 29, absolved six youth, who had been arrested by Policemen of Doddapet Police Station in Shimoga District in 2009, on charges of being involved with the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) activities. Anita, Jagannath, Devendrappa, Asha, Gangamma, and Mallesh, had been arrested on the allegation of being suspected Maoists, and getting involved with illegal activities. Because of the Maoist tag, they were lodged in Mysore jail. Judge of the court, Arjun Malloor, who heard the case, held that the prosecution had failed to prove the charges levelled against the youth. He ordered release of all the accused, observing that there are no evidences against them. It is said that Anita and Jagannath will be released immediately, as other cases filed against them have also been decided in their favour. The other four will continue to face some other cases. Therefore, their release will be dependent on the outcome of these cases.
