The Sri Lanka Police have instructed the farmers of Maligawila and its neighbouring villages in the Moneragala District near the border of Eastern Province, which recently came under attack by fleeing Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) militants from North, to vacate their homes with immediate effect, reports Colombo Page. According to Police sources, the villagers were instructed to vacate their homes due to failure to grant security for these villages following the recent attack. The sources confirmed that villagers in Kaluillama, Bosra, Kaju Ara and Demodara in Maligawila have begun to leave their houses obeying the Police order. The Police say they were instructed by top officials to evacuate the villages with immediate effect.
