They included a female cadre, a militia commander involved in the abduction of the Malkangiri Collector in 2011 and two militia members. She hails from Laxmipuram village under Motu Police Station limits and was part of the Kalimela dalam (squad) of the CPI-Maoist. The other three surrendered Maoists were from cut off area of Balimela reservoir. The surrendered militia commander was Samar Khara alias Santosh (33), who was involved in the abduction of Malkangiri Collector R.Vineel Krishna. The other two Maoists were Bhabani Hantal (25) of Tentuliguda near Paparmetla and Ratu Golari (29) of Jendaguda near Jodamba.
