Meanwhile, two Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) militants deputed to Tura in West Garo Hills to extort money and abduct an influential businessman have been arrested on November 19. The arrested militants have been identified as Goera D Sangma (27) and Sengsal R Marak (22). The two GNLA militants who had taken shelter in a house in Boldak A ding, under Dobasipara Police outpost, were arrested just as they were passing through the main thoroughfares of the town to carry out their abduction. Security forces recovered two automatic pistols with six rounds of live ammunition and two mobile handsets. They belonged to GNLA s Baichung Momin command and had planned to conduct a series of extortion cases and abduct several prominent businessmen, revealed District Police chief Mukesh Kr Singh.
