This data was extracted from the following paragraph of the newspaper clippings.
On December 27, CRPF and Jharkhand Police raided a Maoist camp in Simdega District of Jharkhand and stumbled upon an arms manufacturing unit. As many as 1,900 gun-making items were recovered, which included three big lathe machines for preparing barrels and chambers of country-made .303 rifles and pistols. Among the alarming recoveries from the arms unit was a unique dual switch mechanism that can be activated by remote control as well as timer device. This is similar to an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) recovered by CRPF from a petrol pump in the same District on December 18. The use of remote mechanism for triggering IED devices would be a paradigm shift on part of the Maoists and spell trouble for the security forces, the CRPF warned in its note. The CRPF also seized bills from Simdega relating to purchase of lathe machines from a shop in Ganesh Chandra Avenue in Central Kolkata. Interestingly, Maoist central technical committee secretary Sadanala Ramakrishna had, following his arrest by the West Bengal Police in March 2013, mentioned similar purchases being made from the same market area. While an encounter ensued with the CoBRA troops in Khunti District of Jharkhand, CRPF recovered 72 kg of explosives from Saranda. Two suspected Maoists were apprehended in Palamu District of Jharkhand.
