He is the seventh accused as per the first information report (FIR) in Thaliparamba Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) case. According to NIA officials, Shihab who was in Dubai went absconding after FICN were intercepted by the Police in September 2011.The NIA Special Court had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant (NBW) against him on November 2012.
