Police sources said a police party which had gone to arrest an Ikhawaan leader was ambushed by a large group of Ikhwanis. The police party had gone to arrest Abdur Rasheed alias Rasheed Billa on charges of extortion and looting. The Ikhwaan leader, reacting to the incident, in a statement alleged that police in the area were resorting to extortion and looting and that an Ikhwaan party returning from an SF base with remuneration for the local unit (Rs. 600,000) was ambushed by the police party attempting to loot the amount.
